The Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Costa Novel coronavirus test has tested positive

Portuguese Prime Minister Costa Novel Coronavirus has tested positive for asymptomatic COVID-19, the Government said on Tuesday. Costa will be quarantined for seven days and has informed President Marcello de Sousa.

Portugal holds early parliamentary elections on January 30th. According to the official tally, the Socialist Party led by The incumbent Prime Minister Costa won 117 seats, more than half of the seats in parliament. It is the first time since 2005 that a single party has won more than half of the seats in Portugal’s parliament. Mr Costa said winning a parliamentary majority did not mean absolute power. The next government will engage in dialogue with all political factions, strengthen social consultation, respect social pluralism and protect the independence of the judiciary
