Germany discovers a new variant of the novel coronavirus

According to local German media reports on the 18th, 73 patients and medical staff in a hospital in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany were diagnosed with the covid pneumonia virus, of which 35 were infected with a new variant virus.

This virus is different from mutated viruses previously found in the UK, South Africa and Brazil. It is still unclear whether this new variant virus is particularly infectious.
