Vietnam reports 1 case of mutated novel coronavirus infection

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam announced on the 2nd that a case of mutated covid virus infection was found in the country, a Vietnamese citizen who had previously entered the country from the UK. According to reports, the female patient flew from the UK to Vietnam on December 22, 2020. After landing, she was quarantined with other passengers on the plane and was subsequently diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia. A local research institution reported on the 2nd that genetic sequencing showed that the novel coronavirus infected by the patient was consistent with the mutated novel coronavirus reported in the UK recently. Currently, the patient is receiving treatment in the hospital.
