DETRUSITOL is a medication used to treat overactive bladder symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency to urinate, and urge incontinence.

DETRUSITOL is used to relieve symptoms of overactive bladder and improve bladder control.
HOW TO USE:
DETRUSITOL comes in the form of 56 pills containing 2mg of the active substance, Tolterodine. The recommended dosage is one 2mg pill taken twice daily. The pills should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and can be taken with or without food.
Storage Conditions:
DETRUSITOL should be stored at room temperature, away from sunlight, moisture, and heat. It should be kept in a secure place out of reach of children and pets.
Mechanism of Action:
DETRUSITOL works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder, thereby reducing the symptoms of overactive bladder. It blocks the action of acetylcholine on the bladder muscles, which allows for better bladder control.
Precautions:
DETRUSITOL should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease. It should not be used in patients who have a history of urinary retention, gastric retention, or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma.
Contraindications:
This medication should not be used in patients who have hypersensitivity to tolterodine or any of the other ingredients in the medication. It should also be avoided in patients with urinary or gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, or myasthenia gravis.

DETRUSITOL may interact with other medications such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin, erythromycin, and other medications that affect hepatic enzymes.
Overdose:
Overdose symptoms may include confusion, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, and urinary retention. If an overdose is suspected, medical attention should be sought immediately.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of DETRUSITOL include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and dizziness. Less common side effects include abdominal pain, nausea, and headache.
