Derise (Darbepoetin Alfa) 200 mcg Injection is a synthetic form of erythropoietin, a hormone that is produced in the kidneys and stimulates the production of red blood cells. It is used to treat anemia due to chronic kidney disease, chemotherapy-induced anemia, anemia due to zidovudine (AZT) treatment in HIV-infected patients, and anemia in patients with certain types of cancer.
Derise contains Darbepoetin Alfa as its active ingredient. It also contains excipients to maintain the stability of the drug.

Usage and Dosage:
Derise is given by injection into the vein or under the skin, as directed by your doctor. The dosage and frequency of the injections will depend on the patient’s condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully. Do not change the dose or stop using the medication without consulting your doctor.
Derise should be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature between 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze the medication. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Mechanism of Action:
Derise works by stimulating the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. It does this by binding to erythropoietin receptors on the surface of red blood cell precursors, which encourages cell survival, maturation, and proliferation.
Derise is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Darbepoetin Alfa or any of the other ingredients in the medication. It should also not be given to patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure or myelodysplastic syndrome.
Derise may interact with other medications, including anticoagulants, immunosuppressant drugs, and oral contraceptives. Therefore, it is important to inform your doctor about all medication taken, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Common side effects of Derise include headache, joint pain, muscle pain, stomach upset, dizziness, and fatigue. In rare cases, Derise may cause serious adverse reactions such as severe allergic reactions, myocardial infarction, stroke, or thrombosis. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, notify your doctor immediately.
