Veenat, also known as Imatinib 100 Mg Capsules, is a medication that contains the active ingredient Imatinib Mesylate and is manufactured by Natco Pharma Ltd. It is available in a pack of 120 capsules and requires a prescription.
Uses:
Veenat is primarily used to treat certain types of cancer such as chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and other types of cancers. It is also prescribed to prevent the cancer cells from multiplying and spreading.
How to Use:
Veenat is for oral use only. The dosage and duration of treatment may differ depending on the severity of the condition. It is recommended to follow the instructions provided by the doctor. Veenat should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the capsule.
Storage Conditions:
Veenat should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use the capsules beyond their expiration date.
Mechanism of Action:
Veenat works by inhibiting the activity of abnormal proteins that cause uncontrolled cell growth in cancer cells. By blocking the activity of these proteins, Veenat helps to slow down the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Precautions:
Before using Veenat, inform the doctor about any medical conditions or allergies that you may have. If you have a history of heart or liver problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, then you should not take Veenat without consulting the doctor. Veenat may temporarily lower your blood cell count, and therefore, patients should be monitored regularly.
Contraindications:
Veenat is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to Imatinib Mesylate or any of its ingredients. It is also contraindicated in pediatric patients under 2 years of age.
Drug Interactions:
Veenat may interact with certain medications, such as blood-thinning drugs (warfarin), antacids, and rifampin, resulting in reduced effectiveness or increased side effects. Inform the doctor about any medications or supplements you are taking before starting Veenat.
