Oxlumo (lumasiran) is a newly approved medication used for treating primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1), a rare genetic disorder that causes a build-up of oxalate in the body leading to severe health problems. Oxlumo reduces the production of glycolate oxidase, an enzyme that leads to the accumulation of oxalate in individuals with PH1 and prevents kidney damage.
